The Original Coconuts Fish Cafe

Coconuts is a fish taco chain that recently came to Cupertino, California. When I heard that the original was in Maui, I knew I had to go. The famous fish taco was invented in Maui, so I had to get that again.

Caesar Salad
The Caesar Salad comes with a lot of dishes, and is a refreshing way to start the meal off. However, this salad was different. Instead of having a creamy dressing, the dressing was more tangy. However, there was still a creaminess to the salad. The crunch of the lettuce and the dressing went amazingly well together, and it wasn't overdressed. It was a great, refreshing dish to start the meal off with.

It is sometimes fun to eat a little bit like a caveman. At first, seventeen different ingredients sounds like too many ingredients. That is not the case. All the ingredients marry together to make a great fish taco. There is the crunch and creaminess of the lettuce, the sweetness of the mango and tomatoes, and the mahi mahi that is packed with flavor. But one other surprise is that it is gluten free. It is great if you have a gluten allergy. My only concern is that with seventeen ingredients, the fish is a little invisible.

A great salad and fish taco made a great meal. If you are ever in Maui, you have to go to Coconut's. It is an amazing restaurant.
