My Experience

When I first walked in, there was a big giant grill. "Wow!" I shouted. I knew it was going to be a great meal. Later, my dad told me that the family style meal is all-you-can eat. My mouth watered more.

A salt lick is a clump of salt that cattle lick. Salt Lick was a big, ranch style restaurant that looked like there could have been cattle next to the restaurant, so it has the perfect name. Before you walk in, there is wine and beer tasting that you could try. Though I'm not 21 yet, the outside made me feel nice. There was nice, fresh air along with my family.

Once we were seated, the waiter came really quickly to our table. The service was spectacular. The waiter constantly came back to see if we wanted more food. He must be running around all the time, I thought. The restaurant was tremendously busy, and there weren't enough waiters to have a personal waiter for everybody. As well as the service, the food was also wonderful.

Food Review
Ribs: The ribs were marvelous. When I bit into them, they tasted fresh off the grill. There were big, bold flavors. The ribs were also as hot as the grill. Nobody likes microwaved ribs.
Brisket: The brisket was done right. It was tender and flavorful. The barbeque sauce perfectly complimented the brisket. Unlike most places, the brisket was more flavorful than the barbeque sauce, so the star was still the brisket.
Sausage: The sausage was juicy and flavorful. The sausage had big portions of flavorful meat that was soft but not chewy.
Coleslaw: The slaw was not a creamy slaw. It was a simple Carolina slaw with a vinegrette instead of a mayo dressing. I got the crunch from the cabbage and the flavor from the vinegrette. The slaw was refreshing to bite into, the perfect snack after a hot day.
Pinto Beans: The beans were comforting. The flavor was on point. The texture was a little chewy, but not overly chewy that it wasn't pleasant to eat. There wasn't too much sauce, so the flavor wasn't overpowering.
Potato Salad: The soft potatoes were packed with flavor. The sauce complimented them perfectly, adding to the flavor instead of taking over. The presentation was marvelous. I saw beautiful potatoes with just enough sauce to cover the potatoes. They weren't drowned in sauce.
